Sissinghurst Tennis Club is a small, friendly club with a growing membership. Set
up by a group of friends in 1981 and located off the Jubilee fields in the Kent village
of Sissinghurst, it offers two hard tennis courts, a modest (we use that word advisedly)
clubhouse and a group of committed tennis players of all ages who do not take themselves
too seriously. We aim to provide a welcoming, unintimidating atmosphere for starters
and old pros alike -
For those wishing to play competitively, we currently have two teams playing in the
Wealden League, and whilst their successes are not exactly the stuff of legends,
they both manage to give excellent accounts of themselves in all their matches. Internally
there are also plenty of Competitions which are open to all members. We are always
on the look-
For those purely wanting to play for fun, and there are many, the Club offers plenty
of opportunity for everyone to book time on the courts virtually without limitation.
Wednesday Club Nights are also well attended by all, creating a very sociable “pro-
We encourage juniors and for those less nimble, we also offer a consistently good social calendar of events, including BBQ, Barn Dance and the occasional Quiz Night (If we can twist an arm or two for someone to organise the questions!) Our AGM Dinner and/or Dance is always well attended and, judging by the number of complaints we don’t receive, enjoyed by everyone.
All of which is why, with over 300 members and rising, we are one of the most popular tennis clubs in the Weald.
