Sissinghurst Tennis Club is a small, friendly club with a growing membership. Set up by a group of friends in 1981 and located off the Jubilee fields in the Kent village of Sissinghurst, it offers two hard tennis courts, a modest (we use that word advisedly) clubhouse and a group of committed tennis players of all ages who do not take themselves too seriously. We aim to provide a welcoming, unintimidating atmosphere for starters and old pros alike - there is no "playing in", no dress codes, no cliques.

For those wishing to play competitively, we currently have two teams playing in the Wealden League, and whilst their successes are not exactly the stuff of legends, they both manage to give excellent accounts of themselves in all their matches.  Internally there are also plenty of  Competitions which are open to all members. We are always on the look-out for new blood.

For those purely wanting to play for fun, and there are many,  the Club offers plenty of opportunity  for everyone to book  time on the courts virtually without  limitation. Wednesday Club Nights are also well attended by all, creating a very sociable “pro-am” mix of players. It’s a lot of  fun too!

We encourage juniors and for those less nimble, we also offer a consistently good social calendar of events, including BBQ, Barn Dance and  the occasional Quiz Night (If we can twist  an  arm or two for someone to organise the  questions!) Our AGM Dinner  and/or Dance is always well attended  and, judging by the  number of complaints we don’t  receive,  enjoyed by everyone.

All of which is why, with over 300 members and rising, we are one of the most popular tennis clubs in the Weald.

Come on and Join!
